    It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane… it’s an ECLIPSE!

    The clouds parted just in time for residents and staff to observe the recent eclipse of the sun. What looked like a cloudy day, turned out to be a wonderful experience. Rex Gray, son of Alice Mitchell provided us with NASA eclipse glasses as well as making the eclipse box with specifications from NASA to safely view the eclipse.

    Pie Eating Contest

    Residents enjoyed a piece of cream pie along with staff in a contest determining who could eat their piece first. Some choose to use a spoon while others used their mouth to devour the luscious chocolate or vanilla cream fillings.

It was a beautiful day for an outing to the Buxton Park Arboretum. The park is located adjacent to the Simpson College campus. It is owned and maintained by a horticulturist and staff of the City of Indianola. It was established in 1909.
